London Overhead Railway Unexecuted

A scene on a plan

This plan would have worked out better and people like to see outdoors.
Actually transport needs to reveal to the passengers where they are. That is why a cable car system would be better than an underground service.

Girl on the Telephone,Monica Maas.

An important invention

Here is the site to get more of the same card.

http://www.monicamaas.nl

This card is created by a person who illustrates many themes.

A device that has changed the world.First the talking versions mattered and now we have the scripted versions by which I mean the Fax and mobile devices to record the conversations.
A telephone can revive economies of a place .
At the moment we even carry (mobile) phones in our pockets.

Persiod Meteor Card

A card for your liking , so just ask me if you want this card.

Those of you who live in the northern hemisphere, get yourself outside on the next few nights and watch the yearly Perseid meteor shower.  It's quite a sight.  The peak this year is forecast to be Thursday night through Friday morning, when you could see up to 80 meteors per hour.  I hope you have clear skies and can get away from the city lights a bit. You never know what you'll see when you look up into the sky.

Perseid meteor shower
The Perseids /ˈpərsɪdz/ are a prolific meteor shower associated with the comet Swift–Tuttle. The Perseids are so called because the point from which they appear to come, called the radiant, lies in the constellation Perseus. The name derives in part from the word Perseides (Περσείδες), a term found in Greek mythology referring to the sons of Perseus.

Westminster Abbey

A grand view

Westminster Abbey, formally titled the Collegiate Church of St Peter at Westminster, is a large, mainly Gothic abbey church in the City of Westminster, London, located just to the west of the Palace of Westminster. It is one of the most notable religious buildings in the United Kingdom and has been the traditional place ofcoronation and burial site for English and, later, British monarchs. Between 1540 and 1556 the abbey had the status of a cathedral. Since 1560, however, the building is no longer an abbey nor a cathedral, having instead the status of a "Royal Peculiar"—a church responsible directly to the sovereign. The building itself is the original abbey church.
According to a tradition first reported by Sulcard in about 1080, a church was founded at the site (then known as Thorn Ey (Thorn Island)) in the 7th century, at the time ofMellitus, a Bishop of London. Construction of the present church began in 1245, on the orders of King Henry III.[3]
Since 1066, when Harold Godwinson and William the Conqueror were crowned, the coronations of English and British monarchs have been held here.[4][5] There have been at least 16 royal weddings at the abbey since 1100. Two were of reigning monarchs (Henry I and Richard II), although, before 1919, there had been none for some 500 years.[6]

Tower Bridge London

A view of the Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge (built 1886–1894) is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London. The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London and has become an iconic symbol of London. Tower Bridge is one of five London bridges now owned and maintained by the Bridge House Estates, a charitable trust overseen by the City of London Corporation. It is the only one of the Trust's bridges not to connect the City of London directly to the Southwark bank, the northern landfall being in Tower Hamlets.
The bridge consists of two bridge towers tied together at the upper level by two horizontal walkways, designed to withstand the horizontal tension forces exerted by the suspended sections of the bridge on the landward sides of the towers. The vertical components of the forces in the suspended sections and the vertical reactions of the two walkways are carried by the two robust towers. The bascule pivots and operating machinery are housed in the base of each tower. The bridge's present colour scheme dates from 1977, when it was painted red, white and blue for Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee. Originally it was painted a mid greenish-blue colour.[1]
The bridge deck is freely accessible to both vehicles and pedestrians, whilst the bridge's twin towers, high-level walkways and Victorian engine rooms form part of the Tower Bridge Exhibition, for which an admission charge is made. The nearest London Underground tube stations are Tower Hill on the Circle andDistrict linesLondon Bridge on the Jubilee and Northern lines and Bermondsey on the Jubilee line, and the nearest Docklands Light Railway station is Tower Gateway.[2] The nearest National Rail stations are at Fenchurch Street and London Bridge.
